Last week our CEO Julien Dehornoy had the pleasure of welcoming Ron Hooton, the CEO of Vision Australia and some of his team to Southbank Tram Depot to find out more about the organisation and meet some of their trainee seeing eye dogs.
As part of the visit Julien gave a donation to help support Vision Australia’s mission to enhance the mobility and independence of people who are blind or vision impaired throughout Australia.
The donation was collected over the last six months from unclaimed money left on our trams ranging from 5 cent coins to $50 notes. All the money, as with anything else left on our trams, was held for 2 months without being collected, so we’re delighted the money will be going to a good cause.
PS – if you do ever leave something on one of our trams you can contact the Yarra Trams lost property team to see if it’s been handed in: https://yarratrams.com.au/lost-property
