A work in progress - the study focuses on eight small railway stations between Culcairn and Corowa. Each station along the track has made unique contributions to historical, social and economic aspects of Australia's modernization process.

The NSW Trains Wiki is a wiki website dedicated to everything related to trains in New South Wales. Being a wiki, it is able to be edited by anyone who has a knowledge of NSW railways.

These pages contain a variety of information about the NSW railway network, both historical and current. The data can be broken down into four categories: non-spatial (plain data), spatial (map data), photographic and hypertext (links to related data sources). The intention of these pages to make as much information as possible available on the net. Although you will find pictures of trains within these pages, I have chosen to concentrate on recording the infrastructure of the state, especially on the abandoned branch lines.

Steam Tram and Railway Preservation Society based at Valley Heights Loco Depot Heritage Museum runs restored 1890s steam trams

The Wagga Wagga Railway Heritage Museum was opened on the 1st June 2009 in response to a desire by a group of Riverina rail enthusiasts, who formed the Wagga Wagga Rail Heritage Association in 2008, to share with the public valued railway heritage assets collected over 20 years. This group aims to preserve railway heritage equipment, historic records and heritage assets of the Wagga Wagga area.

The Rail Heritage Museum is located in the former Porter’s Room on the Historic Wagga Wagga Railway Station Platform and houses over 500 historic railway items from catering and stationary equipment to communication devices and mechanical items.

The Wagga Wagga Rail Heritage Association has also acquired ganger’s sheds for the display of larger railway items, and the former Railway Rest House located in Railway Street Wagga Wagga. These venues are currently being developed to provide additional display spaces for railway heritage assets and the promotion of railway history.

The Association has an active volunteer workforce comprising current and former railway employees as well as a growing number of railway enthusiasts from the general public who work to preserve heritage railway assets.
